Admin login is giving 'Invalid security token' after Joomla Update

I've upgraded Joomla core from 3.4.0 to 3.4.8 and now when I attempt to login to the Joomla administrator area, I keep getting the 'Invalid security token' error message. I've tried all the other steps to remedy this issue (deleted session entries from database, cleared browser cache, refreshed page) and I still can't login to administrator area! What's going on here?

There is a conflict with the antispam extension Cleantalk. Manually restore your site to the previous working version of Joomla, update cleantalk to the most recent version then update Joomla again. Credits for discovering this issue go to nemanjaradevic, on this thread of Joomla Forums.
